It happened on the third day. He had finished the third period class, had written in the study diary and was about to leave when a student from class 2 – 6 came calling for Gotou. During the preparation of the sports carnival, a piece of square timber broke a window. Confused, the student ran to the back of the gym and managed the situation as Gotou instructed. Soon, it was packed with the groups that stayed behind after school for the sports carnival preparation. If Gotou stayed behind, Hirose felt it made it difficult for him to leave.
As he thought about that, he was informed by the staff in charge to return to the preparation room. As he was returning, he noticed a figure in the 2 – 6 class room. There was no announcement to remain in the classroom today, he thought as he peeked into the room and as he did, he realized that it was Takasato.
He looked like he wasn’t doing anything in particular. He didn’t seem to be lost in thought or absent-minded. He was sitting in his seat faced towards the window, hands lightly cupped together placed above his desk. There was hardly any sensation of his being except for the fact that he was simply there.
