China Holiday 2010: Day 1: Shanghai arrival

In the plane to Shanghai, we quickly had a lunch which we could choose from an omolette or a noodle dish. I chose to have the noodle dish.

I don’t know why people keep telling me aeroplane food is bad, because this looked and tasted great. (^o^)

China holiday 2010: Day 0: Arrived at Hong Kong for transfer

I just arrived at Hong Kong from an 8 hour flight from Perth, Western Australia.

The in-flight entertainment looked like this.

We had a supper after taking off. I had steamed Hoke fish with dill sauce, pea mash and veges. At first it didn’t look apealing but it tasted good. (^o^)

China holiday

I am going on a 3 and a half week holiday to China. I will be going to Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore and Hong Kong. I am currently in the airport waiting for the plane.

I’ve been quite busy at work so i haven’t had much time to prepare. I even had to go to a printing place at the city when going to work today to get them to print out some otaku cards for me.

I bought the BlogPress app for my iPad, so i hope it will make blogging while on holiday easier.

I will be putting my 2009 Japan blog posts on hold while I am on holidays. Also, i haven’t mentioned it yet, but over xmas and new years i’ll be going to Japan with a friend. I think it’ll be a great couple of holidays before the end of the year.

Japan Trip 16: Kara no Kyokai

My day started by looking up all the cinemas screening the final Kara no Kyokai movie in Tokyo.

After finding a place in somewhere in Shinjuku, I headed off early in the morning to secure some tickets for the movie. The previous time I watched movies in japan, it all was a really rewarding and enjoyable experience so I planned to watch some while I was in Japan this time.

I stated first by transferring from the Tokyo Metro Hibuya line at the Akihabara station to get Shinjuku via the JR lines.

Japan Trip 15: Tokyo Figure Show

On day 15 of my 2009 Japan trip, I started the day in Osaka's train station waiting for a bullet train to take me to Tokyo where I will be staying for the rest of my trip.

I had recently posted some of my shopping home, so I didn’t have as much luggage to carry back to Tokyo. My suitcase was at my friends place in Tokyo, so all I had was clothes and a small amount of anime goods.

After a bit of a wait, I was in the bullet train with all my gear. As usual, it’s quite exciting to ride on a bullet train, so I ended up taking a few pics while inside despite having ridden in them several times already.

I bought an iPad!

Long time since I have last posted a blog. The main reason is because I bought an iPad. :P
I have always been into stuff like ebook readers and liked the idea of being able to browse the net whenever you liked. The main thing that held me back was the plans for the mobile Internet.

However when I actually researched the data plans, I found that it was really cheap for Internet access. Vodafone Australia seems to offer a prepaid charge as you go option of 1gb for $15au that will last a month. Also if you recharge the credit before the end of the month the remaining unused data allowance is carried onto the next month of usage.

So I have been enjoying taking the iPad everywhere I go and it has replaced my old 2gb iPod nano as my main mp3 player. However it doesn’t seem to be the ideal platform for blogging. It seems there are only a couple of apps available to do blogging with, and the safari browser can’t display the rich text view on wordpress so I’d have to type in HTML which simply is too difficult on the onscreen keyboard.
